CREATING CAMP, CREATIVE AND SOCIALLY CHARGED THEATRE FOR THE END TIMES
theatrePUNK co. was founded by el waddingham in 2022 and is an emerging arts organisation based in Meanjin, seeking to create sustainable, radical and bold theatre.

Our work takes traditional theatre and flips it on its head, producing adaptations of classical theatre and new heightened forms of performance like drag and dance theatre. We are working to create a generation of artists who value community and creativity over commercialisation, and we are proud to offer pay-what-you-can dramaturgy and workshops, development opportunities such as babyPUNK that uplift emerging artists, support for companies attempting to make their practice more environmentally sustainable, and a company structure that makes us approachable to artists wanting to develop works with us or be a part of one of our main season productions.

Our work is constantly looking for ways that we can contribute positively to environmentally sustainable arts practice, and this awareness lives at the forefront of what we do.

We want to empower a generation of artists to overthrow the limiting power structures in place today and to create the art that they want to create, and be damn good at doing it.

Above all, we are unapologetic-unapologetically queer, political, feminist, brash and brazen.
